A man in a brown suit reclines in a wide airline seat, tie neat, smile easy—classic travel-ad illustration, polite and permanent. Beside him, a flight attendant in cobalt uniform balances a tray of drinks, composed as if the cabin were still level. They are drawn from another era’s idea of comfort: crisp line, idealized grace, nothing out of place.

Everything around them disagrees. The background is grain and static at first, then erupts into rolling contours—concentric black, white, and peach bands that read like topographic maps melting in heat. The patterns pull the eye into motion; the figures stay still. Surrealism here is not a monster in the aisle but a shift in physics: service as usual while the world warps.

It is retro and psychedelic at once—mid-century courtesy suspended inside an optical storm. Built for a wall that can hold wit, nostalgia, and a slow double take.
